Award Sessions

Eligibility Criteria
Duration 8 mins + 2 mins for Q&A
  • Otolaryngologists under 40 years of age, to present their original work in laryngology.
  • Must be member of APSI at time of sending abstract or at least applied for membership.
  • Selection will be based on the abstract sent; the best 8 will be selected here and rest will be slotted in the Consultant Award paper section.
  • Abstract needs to be submitted by 31.12.2023. If selected full text needs to be submitted by 15.1.2024.
(The full text article shall be considered for publication at the official journal of APSI-IJOPL if accepted after peer review)
Duration 8 mins + 2 mins for Q&A
  • Otolaryngologists to present their original work in Laryngology.
  • Must be member of APSI at time of sending abstract or at least applied for membership.
  • The selection is based on abstracts submitted; the best 10 abstracts will be selected for oral presentation and the rest will be allotted in Poster Competition category or Free Paper category (as per choice of delegate).
  • Above 40 years for Consultant Award.

  • Practising speech language pathologists; Not intended for BASLP students
  • The topic should be related to Laryngology.
Duration 8 mins + 2 mins for Q&A
  • ENT postgraduate students (DLO, MS, DNB) presenting on topics related to Laryngology only.
  • Among the submitted abstracts, those shortlisted will be chosen for oral presentations. The remaining abstracts will be allocated to either the Poster Competition category or the Free Paper category, based on the preference of the delegate.
  • Delegates will be informed after 10 days of abstract submission.
  • Must produce a certificate from HOD, Head of Institution.
  • Any delegate who has registered for Phonocon 2024.
  • Postgraduate students in ENT (DLO, MS, DNB).
  • Postgraduate students in speech language pathology & deglutology.
  • The topic of presentation should be related to Laryngology only.
  • Layout: Landscape (horizontal orientation), Format: 16:9, E-Poster File Format: PPT (.ppt/.pptx).
  • Slides: 1 slide is recommended, maximum 4 slides.
  • Post Graduates must produce a certificate from HOD, Head of Institution.

Specifications for E-Poster Presentations

  • E-Poster with a Maximum of 4 slides excluding title.
  • Be sure to include the abstract title and author name. Name of institute and guide/mentor/Senior consultant should not be there on the poster.
  • The designated poster presenter (author ) must be present at the assigned pace during the designated time to discuss the work presented.
  • Three minutes for the E-poster presentation and two minutes for question-and-answer session.

Tips for E-Poster Preparation

  • Posters should stimulate discussion, not give a long presentation. Therefore, keep text to a minimum, emphasize graphics, and make sure every item included in your poster is necessary.
  • Make sure ideas flow logically from one section to the next.
  • Use charts and graphs to illustrate data (avoid large tables of raw data).
  • Use high resolution photographs.
  • Do not use all capital letters.

Guidelines for Paper Submission

Last date of submission - 31st December 2023

  • The abstract should be informative but concise and structured under following headers.
    • Title
    • Background /Objective of the study
    • Methodology
    • Results
    • Conclusion
  • The title must be short and concise. Informative titles indicating the key points of the study are encouraged.
  • Authors: Please enter your and co-authors full name and official address.
  • The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract before submission. The presenting author must be listed as the first author.
  • Abstracts must include unpublished data with a text limit of 500 words.
  • Do not include references in the abstract.
  • Abbreviations should not be used in the title.
  • Acronyms should be written in full the first time as mentioned in the text, followed by the abbreviation in parenthesis.
  • Always follow SI units.
  • The last date for submission of the abstract is 31.12.2023
  • The notification regarding the acceptance as paper or as poster will be sent to the presenter as email.
